I See the Light - Ariel's 13th to 15th Months

Yay! It's done! *phew*
I'm not sure if any of you actually click on any of my videos to watch. Nonetheless, though it takes me a good deal of time, I am keeping them coming slowly but surely. These videos are meant for the kids, and myself, to look back on as time goes by and you know, time goes by really fast! I am resolute to compile all the videos into a DVD in future and I bet it will be my most prized collection of clips!
For now, check out what Ariel has been doing in her 13th to 15th months!

Dear Ariel,

You took your first steps when you were 13 months old. It was during Chinese New Year and you have no idea how much you delighted everyone when you started to wobble over to Papa and Mama. It melted my heart and all I wanted to do was to hug you, kiss you and tell you how proud I was of you. Of course, I kept trying to get you to walk once more and you were so sweet to do it over and over again without throwing tantrums.

We have been trying to get you to pick up more new words and remember the sounds that animals make. You can say "Sssssss..." when I say "Snake" but basically, you say the same for every other animal from dog to duck to cow. Papa and I realize that you are very different from your sister and learn different things at different speeds. Jiejie took longer to walk but she could talk way earlier. I have been telling myself that I should never compare the two of you or impose any expectation on you just because you have a jiejie to look up to. As long as you are growing up, eating well and staying healthy, that is all Mummy wants.
You love to go to the playground and fear was never in your mind when you climb steps or go down slides. In fact, you have impressed us, and every stranger who sees you, because at the age of just one, you can go down slides, big and small, on your own. The first time, I freaked out because you just looked so tiny on the slide and you whizzed down so fast that I was afraid you were going to get hurt. But you gave out a boisterous laughter that was so sweet and pure that from that day onwards, you became an expert in maneuvering yourself down slides and all I do now is to wait for you at the bottom, lend you a push when you try to climb up and give you a big smile when you land. You never fail to amaze me, my love.
May you grow up to be the cheerful kid in the world and may we have more happy days ahead of us. Thank you for making me see the light and be thankful for how I can be by your side to watch you grow up every day.

Love,
Mummy
