Almost a freakin' year ago (seriously where does time go?!), I got all excited and told you we were gearing up to do an overhaul of our front walkway and landscaping, and build a new patio complete with fire pit and hot tub. You can read all about it here. Well, needless to say, none of that happened last year. We had a bit of sticker shock when we realized how much it was all going to cost and given that we're not planning on this being our "forever" house, it didn't seem smart to sink all this money into it.
This Fall, we're moving forward with more realistic expectations of what updates we can do to our property and also thinking about what things are "must do." One of those "must-dos" is definitely going to be replacing the original siding. It's rotted and warped in certain places and our home inspector pointed out 2 years ago that it would need to be redone at some point soon. We haven't priced out options on materials (wood, vinyl, composite like we have?), but that doesn't stop me from playing around with colors.
The other day, I used the BM Color Viewer to try out a few different shades of gray. I'm pretty much sold on gray (like... you can't change my mind).
Here's a shot of our current house color (old pic - trust me those bushes look even worse now if that's even possible...). It's a beige/tan/pink color:
And here are a few of the grays I tested:
1. Benjamin Moore Shaker Gray
2. Benjamin Moore Puritan Gray
3. Benjamin Moore Stonington Gray
4. Benjamin Moore Duxbury Gray
5. Benjamin Moore Boothbay Gray
6. And my current personal favorite, Benjamin Moore Chelsea Gray which actually looks a little taupey so maybe I'm not entirely sold on gray gray.
Weigh in, pretty please. What color do you like the best? Or should I forget gray entirely?
