I'm the SITS Girls Featured Blogger Today!

By Carlo @CarloAtYourServ

There aren't many things outside of parties that "get my bloomers twisted", but I just have to tell you...being chosen as the SITS Girl Featured Blogger today, makes today really special.
So, I'd like to personally thank all of the SITS staff and every member who stops by. I take none of this for granted, so please know just how grateful I am. SITStah-hood means a lot when you didn't grow up with any real sisters (like me).
I was just sitting here, thinking back -- trying to remember how I found out about the SITS Girls. And for the life of me, I can't remember.
It's been such a wonderful experience -- and all that really matters is that I found my way into the SITS Girls community of very welcoming women bloggers who are there for one another.
In case you're not familiar with the SITS Girls and our "family" traditions, it's an online organization 40,000 members strong. Our mantra: "the secret is in the sauce" is not only our mantra, but our creed.
SITS Girls shares blogging tips and tricks, has a really cool forum, hosts Bloggy Boot Camps (in various major cities around the country, annually -- wait a minute... has the SITS Girls BBC's gone International? Does anybody know?) and we're support-junkies, we cheer-lead and encourage each other on.
What I love the most about SITS is that we're there for each other -- hoping and praying for the best when one of our fellow SITStah's is standing alone in times of trouble, and laughing so hard that you can cry at times (when it's unimaginable that being online could even evoke such a thing [seriously people, this has happened -- to me, anyway!]).
And this is just some of what being a SITS Girl is all about.
If I've piqued your attention, stop by the SITS website. Lord knows they do a much better job of explaining everything there is to offer than I ever could.  So, if you've been thinking about starting a blog or you're already a blogger who would like to join strong, positive female forces, hop on over to the SITS Girls site and get signed up.
The sits girls know... everything. Or, just about everything. That's just how awesome the resources are that you'll find provided on the SITS Girls website. Really. So be sure to check it out.
For new SITS Girls who are first time Cater-Hater visitors: people have sometimes asked, "Where did the name "Cater-Hater" come from?" and "Do you hate caterer's; so that's what you blog about?"
I am the originator of the term "cater hater". Being a lover of words I decided to create a "dictionary description" explaining what "cater hater" means in my very first blog post, written February 27, 2009.
I love to read. And I've been writing ever since I could hold a Crayon. And my other passion is of course this stuff... I'm a 20 year professional catering veteran (and event planner) with a specialization in large (1000+ guest count) luxury-style events. I'm a party writer and I'm writing a book about marketing, so I guess I'm an upcoming book author also.
Cater-Hater is the Carlo At Your Service Productions (currently going through a website redesign) catering and event planning company business blog. The title "Cater-Hater" just kind of just "worked" when I said it. It easily rolled off my tongue one day, about 4 years ago. I was tossing around ideas for a blog title and chose it because it seemed kind of saucy and naughty, and provocative -- and intriguing too; making people curious about it's origin and meaning. No one had yet "coined the term" and now just under 4 years later... here I am, continuing the evolution of the double entrendre, the "say one thing, mean another", wonderfully crazy Cater-Hater brand.
Literal cater hate? I love everybody, so no, I don't hate caterer's (or event planners, party planners, or wedding planners, or anybody else -- for that that matter)! However, I do side with party consumers, first; helping people who love to entertain be empowered by creating DIY catering and party planning tips and tricks that are designed to produce professional-looking results, while making your life a little easier and your wallet lighter too.

I love people, so consider fully following me (click on the link -- it's really cool... it's like magic!) so that we can hang out online with each other at other places! My interests are varied, so pretty much -- no matter what you blog about, I'll be inspired and have something to say.
So hey everybody! I'm proud to be a part of a community of such interesting women; from single women, to married women, to SAHM's, to women without children, to women with children that are cats and dogs.
The SITS Girls secret to success is... relationships.
And speaking of relationships... I just wanted to tell you about Katherine (the blog author of "Give Peas A Chance"). She's a friend that I met over on Google+, who decided to join the SITStah-hood too! Yep, she sure did... three days ago, when I happened to mention I was having my SITS Day today; she grabbed the SITS Girl code, dropped it into her site and now she's "official". So she's a brand new SITStah... so I'm wishing a happy shout out to Katherine, yo!
So listen you guys... this is truly special.
Thank you to everyone from the "SITStah-hood" (and those of you who aren't!) who have stopped by today, sending me warm well wishes.
*Huge smile, tipping my imaginary hat off to you*
You've been kind and I appreciate it! And for sharing your "SITStahGirl-love" with me today, here's a little sump 'em- sump 'em...
