You know what I have realized? Self-love is hidden in the corners of our bodies and minds. We have to dust-off a few things (sometimes a lot of things) for it to reveal itself.
Recently I was having a conversation where we were discussing what we like and dislike most about a) our personalities and b) our bodies. *hold my glass* when asked what I dislike the most about body, my answer in a heartbeat was, “Nothing! I like my whole self!” WHAT!?! Who am I? Did I express that to another human out loud? Yes! Yes, I did. And I meant it too. I don’t lost any sleep over changing any part of my body. I don’t wish for better hair or better complexion or abs or anything else. I love what I see in the mirror and I feel comfortable in my skin.I don’t *exactly* know how I got here but I am so happy that I did. If I had to guess, I’d say that once I allowed myself to be still and pause, removed all the unnecessary distractions and unkind voices, got rid of everything that didn’t align with peace and calm, my true self revealed itself. In the beginning it seemed alien to my existence because I had ignored it for so long or may be had refused to acknowledge it. However, somewhere in that stillness I found the missing parts of myself and became complete. I am starting to discover who I am today and who I want to be in future. It is getting clearer what really matters to me. And somewhere along the way, I have really started to love every inch of myself. You know one of those cliché exercises people ask you to do? —Write a letter to your younger self— While, I haven’t written it, I know that young-Tanvi would be very proud of who I am today. On that note, I am wrapping up 2021! If you still come to this space to check-up on me, all at your own volition, I am humbled that you still think of me. So, thank you. And if you have stumbled here because you searched for something on the internet and my blog link showed up in response then I hope you found what you were looking for. Regardless, wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
