I've never ventured into 'evening' wear on my little blog before, but I thought it would make a nice change, especially as us girls all love pretty dresses, right? I don't own many posh frocks as I've never really had the occassions to wear them. However, with christmas soon approaching *hooray* i think it's important to be prepared for all the parties, whether it's just at home with friends or at a posh christmas ball! (anyone else's parents love those?) So this dress will definately be perfect for any potential parties! What i love about maxi dresses is that they are so elligent & flattering, and being black this dress is instantly slimming! (ideal as i'll soon be eating far too many christmas cakes!) They also make a statement too, so if you've got an embellished one like this, you can keep jewelry to the minimum! Personally, i prefer strapless maxi dresses, especially ones with a more structured bodice, like this! It allows the skirt to flare slightly which always me feel like a princess! When I chose this dress from Chi Chi I thought the bodice may not be elasticated at the back, so, being a girl of whom is gifted in the 'boobie area' (Apologies for being so blunt) I decided not to risk it not fitting so ordered a size 12 (instead of a 10) however, the bodice is quite giving! Therefore, if you order this dress i definately recommend ordering your actual size!
In terms of makeup and hair, i just went for quite a 'natural' look! A red lippy would definately glam it up, but personally i preferred a more 'neutral' look with all the sequins, and i love how my nail polish makes the whole outfit even more girly! You can probably also tell i was having a usual 'frizzy mess' hair day, so i bared with it and simply clipped back my fringe for a really effortless look!
So, if you're looking for the perfect outfit for the christmas party season i really recommend checking out Chi Chi clothing! I know that's where i'll be doing all my sparkly dress shopping! Just before i go, i just wanted to say that my 'glamorous wishlist' post was shortlisted for the competition, so if you fancy being lovely jubbly people, you can like my entry on their Facebook page here! Have a lovely evening, and let me know what you think of the dress and how you'd style it! x x x
