Arpi’s Industries, an HVAC and Plumbing Company based out of Calgary, AB, was looking for a way to handle call-volume increases during months when temperature fluctuates quickly. The company’s almost 50-vehicle fleet was handling 300 to 400 service calls per day and needed a solution to help prioritize jobs.
John Senycz, Service Manager at Arpi’s, had heard about different fleet management solutions and had decided to do some research to see what was out there. “Over the years, we had been reading different articles in some of the HVAC journals and we had heard through the grapevine about some other firms that have used similar systems here in Calgary,” he said. “We thought we would look at how it may help our organization.”
After some research, the company deployed the Fleetmatics system in August of 2012. Arpi’s chose Fleetmatics over other providers based on the both user-friendly interface and the reasonable cost of the solution.
Since he has been using the system, Senycz has noted how dispatching has improved. “Fleetmatics just makes everything more intertwined and seamless,” Senycz concludes. “It unloads our customer service reps and dispatchers to do more data mining and more customer smoothing, rather than babysitting the techs every minute of their time.”
