- After an initial start in China, Huami is now bringing the GTS 2e and GTR 2e to North America, Great Britain and India.
- The new watches have made some cuts compared to the Amazfit GTS / GTR 2.
- Both watches will go on sale January 12th in the west and January 19th in India.
Update: January 18, 2021 (12:43 AM ET): After Huami announced at CES 2021 that they would be bringing the Amazfit GTS 2e and GTR 2e to North America and the UK, he has now confirmed that the duo will also be sold in India.
The smartwatches in the above countries are essentially the same devices that were launched in China in December, just without the XiaoAI voice assistant. However, both watches still support the offline voice assistant for quickly launching apps and activities, which we praised in our full review of the GTS 2 and GTR 2.
Both smartwatches will be available in India starting Tuesday, January 19, for 9,999 rupees (~ $ 137) on Amazon. The GTS 2e will also be available on Flipkart.
Huami debuted the GTR 2e and GTS 2e in North America last week starting at $ 139.99 on the Amazfit website and Amazon. You can grab both watches using the buy buttons below. The GTS 2e is also available in the UK through Argos for £ 119.
Original article: December 15, 2020 (3:23 AM ET): Huami already launched a smartwatch in the Amazfit GTS 2 Mini this month, but the company has two more wearables on offer before the end of the year. Now the brand has launched the Amazfit GTS 2e and GTR 2e in China (h / t: GSMArena).
The GTS 2e is the Apple Watch-like wearable device of both, and features a rectangular case and screen, and a crown / button on the right. Meanwhile, the GTR 2e opts for a more distinctive circular design with two buttons on the right. However, the two watches use both OLED screens, namely a 1.65-inch and a 1.39-inch display.
Otherwise, there is a lot of crossover between them as both the Amazfit GTS 2e and GTR 2e 5ATM offer water resistance, blood oxygen readings, heart rate tracking and intelligent tracking for six sport modes.
Other common functions include sleep tracking, the PAI Health Assessment Suite, support for Xiaomi's XiaoAI assistant, NFC support, and a temperature measurement tool for measuring ambient and skin temperatures.

Expect the Amazfit GTS 2e's 246 mAh battery to give you 14 days of juice while the GTR 2e's 471 mAh battery will give you 24 days of daily use. Either way, this seems like a significant endurance upgrade over the GTS 2 and GTR 2. Unfortunately this has a price.
The new watches forego the WiFi that was used in the previous wearables, forcing you to bind to your phone more often. The new devices also lack the GTS 2 and GTR 2 independent music players in case you want to listen to music without your phone.
Even so, the new smartwatches in China are available for 799 yuan (~ $ 122), which is a cheaper offer than their predecessors at 999 yuan (~ $ 153). There's no word on wider availability, but we do anticipate global pricing outside of China will be below the $ 180 price for the GTS 2 and GTR 2.
