How to Wear Marigold Yellow and a Personal Message of Support

By Bridgetteraes @BridgetteRaes

Before I get into today’s post, I want to preface it by saying, I planned this before pandemic hysteria set in. Now I am looking at this topic thinking, “who the heck cares about marigold yellow?” It’s a tricky balance coming up with blog posts that are relevant to what is going on in the world while also offering a healthy distraction. The truth is, one day in the future we won’t be shuttered away in our homes and you might wonder, “just how do I wear marigold yellow?” Life will return to normal…one day

Before I get into this, I want to share some other thoughts which I just recently shared with my Facebook Group. I have learned is people don’t always know what you need until you ask. Having survived the great recession by the skin of my teeth, I am bracing for our current situation to potentially take me out in a way that won’t be survivable. So, I am going to ask for some help now in an effort to hopefully weather this situation the best I can.

#1- If you find a blog post helpful, share it wherever you can. This can help increase traffic, awareness of my blog and readership. Also, just telling others about my blog can be a great help. If everyone here shared posts I write, it could go a long way in making a difference.

#2- During these weird times, it’s hard to get obsessed with fashion. Knowing this, I will try my best to post relevant topics while also offering a distraction from the doom and gloom of what we are living through. So any post ideas that hit that perfect sweet spot are welcome.

#3- While I am not seeing clients in-person at this time, I am continuing my virtual style work. If you need any help, If you are a Facebook Group Member, you can get a one-hour session with me for as little as $100. I have heard a lot of people are using this isolating time to clean and organize their closets. I can help with that.

#4- Follow me on all social media channels, I can be found on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, and YouTube. With the exception of Facebook, where I am @bridgetteraesstyleexpert, all other social media channels, I am @bridgetteraes.

#5- Obviously, right now, nobody is booking speaking events. However, as we emerge from this, if you work for a corporation, professional organization or are a retailer who could benefit from booking me to speak or to train your salespeople, let’s talk so we can be prepared when we get back to normal.

#6- Join my Facebook Group. I know that not everyone wants to pay a subscription to join a group, but if you see the value and know someone who will too, tell them about it. The more members we have the more we also help organizations and charities, who will be clearly hit by this financially, by donating 1/2 the money we make through subscription fees. I have been incredibly touched by founding members who get their subscriptions for free forgoing them and signing up for a paid membership instead.

#7- We’re all going to be hit by this pandemic economically, so if you are a small business owner and need help and there is a way that we can work together that could benefit both of us, let’s talk and come up with some creative ways to weather the storm together.

#8- How can I be of service to you? What do you need to get through this? How can I help to ensure you’re also in a good place after this is over? I know people, have resources and might be able to provide help to you with what I know/have. Two heads are better than one. So don’t be shy to reach out.

How to Wear Marigold Yellow

Marigold is a yellow shade with a lot of red in it. For some of you who struggle with undertones of color, you may not see it. Marigold is similar to saffron, which happens to be on Pantone’s hit list of popular colors for the season.

You also know that I love yellow particularly as an accent shade. A post I wrote on yellow shoes a few months ago was incredibly popular. So even as an accent, marigold can be quite versatile.

Let’s take a look at some outfits using marigold.

Outfit #1

If you are a curvy girl who looks good in marigold, I styled this dress from Eloquii with olive, a color that pairs well with the shade. I added these olive sandals from MICHAEL Michael Kors, olive bag and a pendant from Gorjana.

Outfit #2

This marigold blazer from Boden can be a great topper to wear to add some interest and color to a look. I styled it with a striped t-shirt from J. Crew and white cropped jeans from AG. I finished the outfit with a pair of Cole Haan sneakers, Longchamp bag and navy earrings.

Outfit #3

I styled these marigold Akris Punto pants with a cutout tulle top, also from Akris Punto. I finished the look with toile slides, a white bag from Staud and hoop earrings from Judith Leiber.

Outfit #4

A marigold handbag or pair of shoes can allow you to embrace this color in small doses. Burgundy and yellow work surprisingly well together as I have styled here using this BOSS dress that I styled with this marigold bag from Vince Camuto. I finished the look with beige pumps and simple drop earrings.

Outfit #5

Due to the amount of red in the color marigold, these marigold slides from Steve Madden pair beautifully with rust. I styled these shoes with a rust-colored cardigan from Jenni Kayne, a pair of jeans from Rag & Bone and a tawny-colored t-shirt from Everlane. The look is finished tonally with a printed scarf and tanager red bag from Treasure and Bond.

I hope you enjoyed this fun distraction on adding some fun color to your life during these strange times.
