#Requirements for Video Chat on Snapchat:
To start a video call on Snapchat, you need:
- The first and major requirement is, of course, the Snapchat app. You need to have a Snapchat app installed on your phone. Without that, you can’t have a video chat with anyone. Not only you, the person, with whom you want to have a video chat should also have a Snapchat app.
- The second requirement, both of you need to be online at the moment of video chat. If the person with whom you want to talk isn’t online, you can’t video chat with them. But you can leave a video message if you want to!
- Another thing, which you need to have on the compulsory basis is the front or rear camera. Without it, forget about the video calling.
- Last but not least, the internet connection, of course! Without that, no chances of video calling.
So, once everything is up and ready, it’s time to start video calling! Let’s see how to do that.
How to Video Chat on Snapchat:
Video chatting on Snap is very easy. It’s just similar to any other app. Below steps will tell you how to video chat On Snapchat. Believe me, it’s as easy as ABC.
So shall we start with the guide??
Step 1. To start a video call with someone, first, you need to go through your contacts list. Now scroll up and down to find the friend you want to talk in the video call.
Now select the name of that person by tapping on its name. Once the name is selected, you will see a screen similar to the following screen.
Step 2. In the above screenshot, you can see there are multiple options there in the above image. Now there are no special methodology for video chatting or sending the normal text message or any snap.
If you want to send the text message, just type your message in the text field and send it to your friend by tapping the Send button. Or if you want to send any snap(Image) to your friend, just tap the first option, i.e image icon, browse the image from your mobile and send it up to your friend.
Similarly, if you want to call your friend with an audio call, simply tap the phone icon and for video call, you need to tap that camera icon. I’ve highlighted the camera icon in the below screenshot.
That’s how we make a video call on Snapchat. If your friend is online, (S)he can receive the call. If the person to be video-called is not online, you get notified that the person is busy.
Step 3. When your friend is online, he/she will see a screen similar to the following screen.
There you can see the three options in the above screenshot. The first option is a big red cross, which is obviously to ignore the call. The middle option i.e Join is to accept the call. If your friends tap the Join option, he will come live with you on the screen.
The third option is the Watch. If your friend taps the Watch option, he will be able to hear and see you but you can’t see the person. This option is good when your friend is angry, doesn’t want to talk to you but want to see you apologising.
So to establish a two-sided video chat, the option to be used is Join.
To disconnect the call, you need to tap the green camera icon – ciao! If you touch this icon, you will get disconnected but you can still see and hear your friend until he also disconnected the call.
So this how-to video chat on snapchat!
But as I promised I’ll tell you how to leave a video message when your friend is offline, here’s how to do that.
Open the contact you want to leave a message for, tap and long press the gray camera icon, and record your message. As soon as you will leave the tap, the message will be released, just similar to the Whatsapp voice message.
If you are not happy with the recording, you can drag the recording to the big red cross option! Your message will be deleted.
