These days everyone with an email contact list thinks they are a hero marketer. Everyone thinks they understand how to market their company online but how many people out there are true students of effective online marketing and how many of them are just mediocre sales people trying justify their title as sales and marketing manager! I understand many companies can not hire a full time marketing professional but there are solutions to that problem that do not involve bad marketing. 

You see, marketing is no longer about big budgets (although a budget helps) and interruption marketing tactics. The companies who are successful at marketing their companies in this new internet age are the ones who understand that every one is tired of being bombarded with useless advertising and irrelevant interruptions to their online experience. Those companies are trying hard to become what people are interested in as opposed to interrupting what people are interested in and by doing so giving themselves a chance to truly connect with their audience. 

It's called inbound marketing. It is the art of attracting people to your content as opposed to jamming it in their faces every chance you get. Before I turn you over to the slide show I wanted be sure I mentioned one more time that HubSpot originally published this on their blog and I just thought it deserved to be shared with my audience. 

If you have any doubt that what you are doing is bad marketing then this slide show will hit home. Otherwise you might just get a laugh out of how ridiculous it all is but just know that there are people out there that are doing these things. There are bad marketers all around us and its not a joke. They make it harder for all of us who are trying to do things the right way.
