How to Throw a Movie Night Minus the Calories

I’m currently writing this post at a fitness retreat in the Cotwolds where popcorn and Ben and Jerrys simply doesn’t exist so I thought I’d share a few healthy tips that I’ve picked up during my first two days. It’s all well and fine being saintly on bootcamp where you can’t find your favorite biscuits even if you wanted to. However, one of the main things I struggle with when I return from bootcamp is the delicious food that awaits on every corner. Now, I’m not ready to give up my favorite weekend plans to stay in and eat lettuce leaves. So here are a few healthy movie night snacks that get my seal of approval.

I love nothing more than having a movie night but I am one of those people who only go to the cinema for the ice cream so you can imagine what my movie nights are like at home when no one is judging me. Oreo milkshakes, banoffee cheesecake and all kinds of naughtiness happens. Here are the ingredients to the perfect post-bootcamp movie night.

Before we get on to all of the delicious foods that you eat without feeling guilty, let’s get comfy. Blanket? Check! Cashmere socks? Check! 4K Television? Check!

Chocolate Dipped Strawberries

One of my favorite healthy weekend treats is chocolate dipped strawberries as they stop me reaching for a tub of Cookie Dough ice cream and still satisfy my chocolate cravings somewhat. Use a dark chocolate that is over 70% cocoa (Hotel Chocolate do some great ones) and make sure that your movie night snack is more strawberries that chocolate. If you’re sticking with the fruit theme, frozen chocolate, banana and almond butter bites are fairly dreamy too.

Popcorn

You’ll be pleased to know that clean eating doesn’t mean you have to rule out the popcorn, you just have to swap a few ingredients or choose your brand wisely.

What are your go to movie night snacks? Are they naughty or nice? This post was sponsored by Panasonic but as always the views expressed are 100% my own.
