How To Remove Towel Bar With No Screws

By Krimkus

Do you have a towel bar in your bathroom or another room in your house that you don’t really want to keep where it is? Maybe you weren’t the one who put it up or maybe you did but you don’t really want it anymore. Well, if you’re looking for how to remove towel bar with no screws then you’re in the right place.

1. Twist the brackets

The brackets on this type of a towel bar are actually the end pieces that are holding the bar onto the wall. Since there are no visible screws there’s nothing else to move or try to adjust in order to get the handle off other than these brackets. If it’s been a while or the room has been painted since the bar was installed it may stick slightly to the wall.

2. Pop off bar

It shouldn’t take too much to pull the bar from the wall once these brackets are released. So, don’t try to tug at it too hard. If you feel like you’re pulling too hard take a step back and look again for anything that might be holding the bar to the wall.

3. Unscrew the ends

The ends should remove quite easily, so you can finish taking down the bar. This part does have screws in it (this is where they’re hidden) and it’s going to be easier for you to remove because you can actually see what you’re doing and how it’s attached.

4. Take it down

Now you should be able to see all of the pieces that make up the towel bar and you’ll be able to take the last of them down from the wall. There may be additional screws, brackets or anything else, so make sure you get everything taken down to reveal your smooth wall again.

5. Don’t try too hard

If you’re struggling to get anything off you want to take a step back and look at it more closely. If you don’t have any screws left then you may need to carefully pry the pieces off of the wall. This is especially true if you’ve had the towel bar for a long time or if anyone has ever painted around it. These things can seal the pieces and the connectors to the wall. Be careful when prying anything away from the wall, however, so you don’t scratch or break apart the wall.

6. Repair any damage

If you can’t remove the bar without causing a small amount of damage this is the part where you want to plaster over the marks or where you may need to paint a little bit to cover the area where you removed the bar.

In just six simple steps you’ll know how to remove towel bar with no screws and you’ll be able to get started installing a new one or just enjoying your bathroom or the rest of your house without it. It’s really just that simple.
