How to Print on Burlap

For today's crafty tutorial, we are going to show you How to Print on Burlap.  There are several different ways you can print on Burlap, but for today's tutorial we are going to print the easy way....from the home printer!
It's a quick and fun tutorial, and I know you are all going to love this as much as I do.
DIY Print on Burlap First let us gather up our supplies needed:  Burlap, Scissors, Freezer Paper, Iron, and Printer. (If you also have a Silhouette Machine, open up the Studio and start putting something fun together.  Just make sure to place your setting at 8.5" by 11".) Now that we have all of our supplies together, it is time to heat up the iron and get going!  Cut a piece of burlap a little larger than 8.5" x 11", and iron until you have all of the wrinkles out.   After you have ironed the burlap, cut a piece of freezer paper to roughly the same size as the burlap.  Iron this on (without steam) with the shiny sound down into the burlap. After they are ironed together, go ahead and cut your burlap and paper piece to 8.5" x 11".
Open up your computer and find something you would like to print.  (I opened up my Silhouette Studio and found a cute phrase that I loved and wanted to print out for our house.) Once you have found what you want to print, do a test run with a blank sheet of paper.  You will want to know how to place the piece into your printer tray.  (My printer happens to print with the burlap starting in the tray facing down.) Ready????? PRINT!

Once you have your new masterpiece in hand, go ahead and remove the freezer paper backing.   You can also pull some of the strings on the edges to fray them a bit if you choose.
And there you have it, easy-peasy!   Here is another one I did this weekend for a friend who is having her baby this upcoming week... Did you like this tutorial?  If so, let me know!  I love to get feedback. As always, feel free to PIN this tutorial.  You can follow me on Facebook here and on Twitter here.
