Are you considering popping the question this holiday season? Don't let it sneak up on you, get a jumpstart on the planning, and make your proposal a memorable one that neither of you will forget. We have a few ideas to spark your creativity.
ENLIST THE HELP OF A SNOWMAN
If you build a snowman and give it branches for arms, you could hang a ring in them. Make it dapper with a top hat, scarf, and monocle for extra fun. Come outside to enjoy a fire, drink hot cocoa, or just bring out your inner child and play in the snow. Any pretense to get you positioned outside in front of your Snow Valet. You could have glasses and a bottle of bubbly chilling behind your snowy assistant, just don't put that out too early!
The sparkling blanket of snow and a quiet setting will help to create the kind of memory that will be relived with every snowman you make in the future. If you live in an area where there is no snow, you could use the light up variety, or make it a wintery destination proposal!
VISIT A LIGHT DISPLAY
There are some really gorgeous light displays during the holiday season. Use this built-in ambiance as if it were a field of beautiful flickering candles. We all look amazing by candlelight or holiday lights! Take a wintery stroll and enjoy the lights. If you can pre-arrange it, have the lights shut off in an area, and when you get that YES! have the lights switch back on. Friends and family can join along for the experience. So fun!
ADVENT ADVENTURE
If you celebrate Christmas (or just love a good countdown) you can use an advent calendar to store little mementos of important days or things about your relationship. On the last day, the last number is the ring. Don't put that ring in there until the final day, put a decoy in, because some people would for sure peek! Celebrating all that you are, and all that you will be. You could even leave some hints in there to throw them off the scent.
EIGHT NIGHTS OF ENGAGEMENT
If you celebrate Hannukah, pop the question on the first night and arrange for family and friends to join in with engagement gifts for the next seven evenings. You could also add mementos of your relationship, like the advent adventure above. Celebrate love, celebrate togetherness, celebrate each other. You have eight days to make this a proposal that will never be forgotten!
HOLIDAY CARD PHOTOSHOOT
You may or may not take yearly pictures to send to friends and family. Getting a photographer and going to a cute locale with festive décor to mark this year's celebrations. Since the photographer will already be there, you can get away with a lot. Bring the whole family and set it up as a gift to the parents/grands. Take both families and just say you wanted a picture of the combined families so that you are both represented in the image. There are so many ways to make this great and sneak off with the photographer for some quick couple snaps so that you can ask in private and get pics of the proposal!
NEW YEAR, NEW PLANS
Do you want to start the new year as an engaged person? Zoom your friends in to watch the ball drop together from anywhere. At the moment the clock strikes midnight, pull that ring out. You can hide it in champagne, but you really need to watch it to make sure that they don't drink it! That would put a real damper on the whole idea.
If you are staying in, you could still cook a fabulous dinner and dress to the nines just for the two of you. Play great music, plan some fun conversation topics about your relationship and what your partner means to you. Then at 23:55, pop the question, saying you couldn't begin another year without a promise to be each other's future.
STILL NEED AN ENGAGEMENT RING?
Here are some gorgeous rings, but you can also use PriceScope's concierge and they will never lead you astray!
All of these rings were found in the PriceScope jewelry search, there are so many wonderful options to choose from!
No matter what proposal you choose, we wish you a big YES! Good luck, good love, and good bling. We would love to hear what you did, or which of these is your favorite!
