1) Meditate- nothing gets your pumped up stress levels down better than meditation. Concentrating on your breath, it's rhythm or following a rhythmic inhaling-exhaling pattern of breathing can shift focus from the monotony. It could be harder to concentrate at first, but with prolonged practice it will surely get easier.

2) Take a ten minute walk- sitting at one place or in front of the screen for a longer span can cause your blood circulation to slow down, leading to an even slower you. Moving around, stretching or just brisk walking can pump up the blood flow, alleviating any physical stress in your body. If you tend to spend a lot of time in front of the screen, then taking your eyes off the screen for even ten minutes can prove to be a good stress buster 3) Eat a heathy snack- when I say eat a healthy snack, I don't mean dig straight into a bucket of ice-cream. Ice-cream can be the comfort food for some, but you definitely don't want to stress out later about all that calories you've packed in. Instead, reach out for a fruit, specially banana for their blood-pressure-lowering potassium, with some peanut butter or munch on your favorite veggie with some ranch dressing The connection between the brain and gut is quite strong and a good satisfying snack will definitely get your endorphins in line. 4) Put on some music- If you are a music-lover then you would definitely be aware of the benefits of good soothing music. Soft classical music, that is pleasant to the ears works cuz it normalizes your heart rate, lowers your blood pressure and even reduces the level of stress-hormones. Crank it up in your car, on your way back home and you'd already be in a better mood to face all that is awaiting at home ( insert your melodramatic kids).
5) Play dress up- this is my definition of a stress-buster. Whenever I am feeling blah, I will walk into my closet, pull out a nice outfit, preferably a loose-fit easy-peasy dress, throw on a blazer ( coz I am a jacket girl ), slip on some high heels, put on my favorite red lipstick and just strut around the house. Believe it or not, science has proven that the way you dress affects your stress-levels. Wearing clothes that are comfy and make you happy will boost your confidence and overall appearance and help alleviate some stress. For me it was the sassy haircut. I feel like a whole new person- youngerand confident. So the next time you are feeling blah, just wear your favorite outfit, pose for the mirror or just get a hair makeover- it will definitely turn your mood around!
