How to Launder the Bugaboo Footmuffs

A Stroll in the Park

Footmuffs keep baby snug and happy during winter outings. Bugaboo footmuffs keep us parents equally content – cleaning them is a total stroll in the park! As the spilling of formula, milk, and food are a common occurrence, these stroller inserts require frequent laundering. Washing once a month or whenever heavily soiled is recommended. From fleece to down, we have the best (and easiest) start to finish care instructions to keep inserts clean and cuddly for baby.

Identify stains on both the interior and exterior of the footmuff prior to washing.

  • Apply Stain Solution directly to any soiled areas.
  • For tough or set-in stains, sprinkle All-Purpose Bleach Alternative* onto the Stain Solution to create a powerful cleaning paste.
  • Use a Stain Brush to gently work this paste into the fabric.
*All-Purpose Bleach Alternative should not be used on woolens, silk, or leather.

Fully zip all zippers and snap all buttons to wash. This will prevent tangling or snagging while in the machine.
Insert into a Mesh Bag to protect hardware during the wash cycle. This step is not required, just recommended however.

For Fleece
Set the machine to the normal cycle and select a warm/cold water temperature and medium spin.
If the machine has an adjustable soil level, set to heavy for the most thorough clean.
Add two capfuls or a squirt of Baby Detergent to the detergent dispenser or directly into the machine drum.

For Down
Set the machine to the delicate or woolens cycle and select a warm/cold water temperature and low spin.
If the machine has an adjustable soil level, set to heavy for the most thorough clean.
Add two capfuls or a squirt of Wool & Cashmere Shampoo to the detergent dispenser or directly into the machine drum.

For down footmuffs, tumble dry, low heat until completely dry to prevent water marks. For fleece items, lay flat to dry.
