How to Install Desktop Signal Applications on Linux

In this article, we will learn how to install desktop signal applications on Linux. Signal is a centralized encrypted message service cross -platform developed by the LLC signal and signal technology foundation. It uses the internet to send one-to-one and group messages, which can include files, voice notes, images, and videos.

The only way to register for a signal is through your smartphone. This works on Android and iPhone phones. So, if you don’t have a signal installed on your smartphone, please and do it first. This will work on your smartphone before you use your smartphone on your computer.

Follow the steps below to install the desktop signal application on Linux:

Signals are available in a repository for several linux distributions. It is also available as a flatpack and snap. We will install Snap on Ubuntu.

sudo snap install signal-desktop

You can also use Snap on Fedora, but for all bases, we’ll demonstrate installing the flatpak.

sudo flatpak install https://dl.flathub.org/repo/appstream/org.signal.Signal.flatpakref

On the Manjaro, you can install it directly from Pacman.

sudo pacman -Sy signal-desktop

You can open the Signal Application graphically using Search your Ubuntu Desktop Application box. Refer to the snapshot below.

Before you can use a signal on your system, you need to link it to the Signals app in your smartphone. The desktop client displays a QR code. You need to scan this code with your smartphone from the Signals app.

How To Uninstall Signal Desktop App in Ubuntu?

For any reason, if you don’t like Signal Desktop Application and want to uninstall the application from your system using the following commands.

sudo apt remove signal-desktop
