Gaining blog traffic is the biggest task in my blogging career. I have started full time blogging from last two months and I have noticed that my blog traffic, followers on my social sites get increased day by day. But I have implemented one more interesting thing that I have read few weeks ago on my fellow blogger’s blog.

Want to Increase Blog Traffic by Updating Old Blog Posts

1. Add Pinterest friendly image

Let’s start from pinterest marketing , the best way to update or replace your old post images, First find out most popular posts of the past. To do this I used Google analytic to find out which posts have been bringing me the most traffic. Then to start editing in the images and I replace all images around 18 posts and insert pinterest friendly images that makes my post catchy in the first look. Colors and font family is the strongest base of your blog’s outlook. Now Finally, I pinned the new images to my Pinterest. This has absolutely increased my blog’s traffic!

2. Keywords

Keywords are the most important key in SEO. Keyword is the best way to find your post in Google. The best practice to use keywords in the content is

1. Use main generic keyword in the title.
2. Insert main keyword and key phrases in the body content.

Post should mention your keyword several times within your content in order to rank highly in search engines and increase blog traffic. Keep search related keyword in the keyword planner and insert high search volume keywords in the old posts which you haven’t used yet.

3. Related Posts

Always find out if you have written content on related posts. Go through an old post to see if there are new posts that you can link to. This is the interesting and user friendly way to get equally traffic on your new and old post.

4. Re-write Old Title to be more SEO friendly

SEO definition gets change every month than we should also change our online marking and blogging strategy. Re-write old title where you haven’t found a single click and try to insert appropriate keyword in the post title. There might be chances to get traffic on those posts.

5. Update and Reuse

There are few post on my blog where I have found few clicks and I have implemented all these tips like I have insert high volume keywords, make a SEO friendly title and insert 200 words fresh write up and republish this old content in the month. This funniest and exciting way to get more shared and clicks on my old post.

6. Delete Spam Comment

Go through your old posts and delete any spam comments that are detracting from your credibility and your site’s aesthetics.

7. Proofread for Mistakes and Dead links

Always check your broken links and try to fix them on time and makes your sites search engine friendly. Also, use a plugin like this one to find any broken links on your site. Then, of course, fix them!

8. Readability

How to improve site’s readability? I know this question in running in your mind. Smaller chunk of text is the best practice to improve your site’s readability. Try to keep each paragraph to about 5 to 6 lines. Use proper heading and sub heading too easy to read.
