How To Freeze Green Beans
If you have a heap of green beans from your garden or your local Indiana farmer’s market and don’t know what to do with them, I say “freeze them!”
I leave canning to my husband and this time around he was too swamped with work so I decided to freeze my fresh green beans.
One word: easy! The hardest part about this method is trimming the ends. Otherwise, from start to finish it really is a breeze!

Loads of green beans and no time to can? Freeze them using these easy instructions!
Ingredients
- Fresh Green Beans, Clean and Ends Removed
Instructions
- Boil water in a large stockpot.
- Add the beans, cover, and boil for 3 minutes.
- Immediately remove the green beans and place in a large pot or bowl of cold water. Cool for 3 minutes or until they are completely cooled!
- Drain.
- Place into freezer bags.
- Freeze!
