Apple Watch and iPhone users aren't new to battery drain issues. However, the problem seems to have worsened after installing iOS 14 and WatchOS 7.0. Even the recently launched Apple Watch Series 6 has faced some issues.
Apple now has listing Seven bullet points highlighting issues users face after updating to iOS 14 and WatchOS 7.0.
The Apple article says that you might notice missing workout cards in the Fitness app or the watch is failing to load any apps or app data. There are other errors like the watch misinterpreting iPhone storage, missing environmental sound data in Health app, and battery drain.
How to fix this?
If you're having two or more of these issues, Apple suggests erasing all content on your iPhone and Apple Watch to restore functionality. But don't worry, we've got you covered. You can easily erase and restore data from your iPhone and Apple Watch by following these simple steps.
1. Back up your Apple Watch
First of all, you need to save yourWatch iPhone data and data on your iCloud storage. You can restore this data after the reset is complete. This process backs up all data on your iPhoneon iCloud, so make sure you have free iCloud storage before you start the backup.
- Make sure your watch is paired with your iPhone
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone
- Press your Last name, then press iCloud
- Check if health is on. Otherwise, press health to manually activate the backup
- Go to iCloud Backup and check if it is alight.
- Press on Save now and let the process complete
If you want to make sure that your health data is backed up, go to the Health app on your iPhone. Press your profile picture on the upper right side. You can find the details of your last save at the bottom of this screen.
2. Unpair Apple Watch from iPhone
- Go to Apple Watch App on your iPhone
- Press on My watch, then go to All watches to see the list of all paired watches
- Press the Info button next to the watch you want to unpair
- Press on Unpair Apple Watch.
3. Erase your iPhone
To erase all content and settings on your iPhone, go to Settings> General> Reset. Press on Clear all content and settings. When finished, your iPhone will erase all data and restart.
4. Restore iCloud backup
Once the process is complete, your iPhone will boot up with a Hello screen. To select Restore from iCloud backup and choose the last one. Now open the Watch the app on your phone and press Start pairing. Tap Restore from a backup to recover your data.
A full reset should fix the issues on your iPhone and Apple Watch. Although battery drain is only one of them, there may be some issues that have not yet appeared. These too might disappear after a full reset as described above.
