How to Dress for Autumn 2015 – British Style!

By Cefashion @cefashion

So it turns out England experienced the coldest summer in three years, with an average temperature of just 13.9C – which left sun-seeking fashionistas shaking their fists in frustration at how little use they’ve gotten out of their summer wardrobe.

… but autumn is here to put a smile on our weary faces.

With the changing of the season comes the opportunity to stock up your wardrobe with those magnificent maroons and glorious greys, not to mention a smorgasbord of chunky knitwear and shaggy winter coats to keep out the harshest of elements.

With that in mind, here’s the finest fashion you should be stocking up on this autumn …

Maxi Dresses

Whilst maxi dresses are forever associated with the summer months, their inherent versatility means you can dig one out on those glorious autumn days when the sun peaks its head out and the beer garden for a few drinks and a pub lunch is the only place to be.

Not only that, if you’re heading off on holiday to escape yet nother drizzly British autumn, be sure to pack your suitcase with these ever popular and extremely wearable printed dresses to help you stand out from the holiday crowd AND feel great – whatever the situation.

Black is Back

In fact, black never went away, but take a look at the catwalks of Milan recently and black prevailed. Indeed, this decidedly gothic look put the models at the centre of their own storyline, with the catwalk look translating onto the high street with ease.

Not only that, but the age old advice is that black is a slimming colour, so if you’ve put on a few extra pounds over the wet summer months, try wearing a black/neutral colour on your problem areas to make sure you’re looking your best whatever the occasion.

Get Scruffy

When the colder months roll around, it’s tempting to ditch your fashionable clothes for something more comfortable and warm – and according to the latest fashion news, this is perfectly acceptable, with cosy clothes back on the menu.

So this autumn, don’t be afraid to crack out those fuzzy woollen blankets and ribbed knits, with scruffy textures the name of the game this year, although be sure to inject a tiny bit of colour into your wardrobe to help mix things up a bit.
