Samsung launched its flagship Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ a few days back. Apart from the amazing display and other features, Samsung also introduced Bixby. Like Amazon’s Alexa, Apple’s Siri and Google’s Google Assistant, Samsungs Bixby is yet another personal assistant which comes loaded only with Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ for now.
Samsung not only made another Personal Assistant app, when there were a few already and Google Assistant has been doing a remarkable job, it also gave Bixby a dedicated button on the left side of the S8 and S8+.
Well, It’s Samsung’s choice to create such an app or give it a dedicated button as well. Afterall, it’s their device but the problem is that Bixby is still not ready yet and lacks features like Bixby Voice which makes it almost useless and the dedicated Bixby button could not be customized.
A physical button could be a blessing for a mobile photography enthusiast or for launching Google Assistant for people who are on the move regularly but Samsung decided to block the customization of Bixby button. Else the app would be rendered useless !!

Customization of the Bixby button is quite easy, thanks to the Open source nature of Android. To remap the Bixby button you do not even need to root your device so the warranty of the phone also remains intact.

Steps to customize Bixby button
Both these apps need to be activated by going to Settings > Accessibility > Services and turning on the respective app.
This is a basic step which helps the apps to detect whenever the Bixby button is pressed.
How to setup Bixby Button Remapper?
Follow the steps below to setup Bixby Button Remapper App:
- Open the App
- Tap the toggle button on the top right
- Tap Bixby Button Action
- Choose the application that you want to start by pressing Bixby button from the available list
Remember, whenever you press the Bixby Button, Bixby App will first launch and then close. The desired application will then launch automatically.
How to setup bxActions app?
Follow the steps below to setup bxAction App:
- Open the App
- Tap Remap
- Choose the application that you want to start by pressing Bixby button from the available list
Whenever you press the Bixby button, it will take you to home for a brief moment before the desired application opens.
