When you start blogging, the first thing that you want is too know that your blog is being read and that people is willing to comment your posts. That sense of community is hard to get and only through hard work and interesting post you can get it. But there are some tools that can help you to start getting it. Google friend connect is another way to create the sense of community around your blog.

One cool benefit that the inclusion of this gadget into your blog brings, is that people that frequent your site can meet each other, and discover and share other websites or blogs that they are member of.

To include this gadget is really simple. The first thing that you have to do is to go to Google Friend Connect.

After you login, you can start to set the information related to your blog: Name, URL, Language. The image above can give you an idea of how you have to set the information. Once you gave all the information, it’s time to configure the gadget. Click on Gadgets and select “Members“, then the settings will appear and you can start your customization. When you are done and happy with the outcome, you have to click on “Get code”. You must copy the source code that Google is giving to you and paste it on the desired place on your blog.

In my case, I chose my sidebar. I created a new text widget and pasted the code there.

There are some cool gadgets but the next ones I plan to try are the ratings and review Gadget and the Social bar.

What about you?  Are you trying Friend Connect? If so, leave your experience in the comments. You can also become a member of this site by joining in the Friend Connect gadget in the right sidebar!

Enjoy!
