That said, I decided to launch another weekly series (because I don’t have enough on my plate already) that is devoted to how to get the most out of the accessories you buy. Instead of going on and on about why I think accessories are important, and why they can offer so much versatility, I decided to use this series to show you. Every Wednesday I will be featuring one accessory and show how to get different uses from it. You don’t need a lot of accessories to get a lot of different looks or to give your style an upgrade and, with this series, I am going to show you. Oh, and I want to state for the record, accessories are any and all non-clothing items, including jewelry, shoes, scarves, hats, belts, etc.
To begin this series I decided to start with this pair of green earrings from Stella & Dot. Why did I choose these, you’re wondering? Well, green is the most versatile accessory color you can own because it is considered a colored neutral. I always say, “When in doubt, go green with your accessories” because they will complement any color while also adding pop. When it comes to jewelry, the more you can do with it the better value it will bring you.
Outfits using green earrings
Here are five outfits that use these same green earrings in every look. As you will see, a pair like this can go from super causal to super professional, along with everything in-between.
Outfit#1- Wear them to work
You have a basic shift dress, like this one from Reiss, and you’re looking to add some excitement to it. Well, grab this pair of green earrings for some sophisticated pop. I love (love, love, love) navy and green together. The truth is, however, it really doesn’t matter what color your dress is, these green earrings will go with it. Imagine a coral dress, a brown dress, a purple dress, a teal dress, even a black dress (need I go on?) and these earrings will work. This is the beauty of green accessories.
The outfit is finished with a gold bracelet from Kanupriya, a white Zara handbag and tan pumps.
Outfit #2- Jazz up a sweater and jeans
The thing I love about accessories is that they can often be worn with all types of looks. Here I took this pair of earrings, that I previously styled for corporate and casual, and used them as pop with this printed summer dress from Modcloth. To further pull out the colors of the dress, I added coral wedge sandals. The outfit is finished with a rose gold metallic wristlet from Fossil and bracelet from Bauble Bar.
Outfit #4- With white jeans and cobalt
For a fresh summer look, cobalt and white is a great way to go. For an additional punch, simply adding these earrings can add even more without over complicating things. To further bring in the green, I styled this outfit with a green handbag from Steve Madden, a basic gold necklace and a pair of adorable star sandals from Modcloth.
Outfit #5- A neutral punch
