I was not much aware of Korea before and came to know about it when my online friends started raving about Korean dramas. Whenever they discussed, they always expressed with zest & zeal, which itself made me intrigued to watch it.
Hence soon I decided to watch myself to find what’s so special about this country’s dramas and why my friends are hit by the Hallyu wave. Thus, in 2019 I watched my first ever K-drama “She was pretty”and instantly fall in love with it.
I have been watching K-dramas for 4 years and has become part of my life now. Aside from being very entertaining, it also helped me learn more about Korean culture, language, food, locations and made me fall in love with all of that!
Here are some things that made me fall in love with Korea while watching K-dramas:
1) K-Travel ( Beautiful locations)
The first thing that captured my attention while watching the dramas was its beautiful exotic locations. Korea is so clean and alluring that it has become my dream country to visit once in my lifetime.
The enchanting skyscrapers, pristine beaches, idyllic palaces, romantic snowfall, and cherry trees are enough to make you pack your bag and visit Korea.
The Hocheon village shown in “Fight for my way” was vibrant and vivacious. Then the Starfield library in “Record of youth” is mesmerizing.
There are a lot more places to see in Korea which you can only discover while watching dramas.
2) K-Food
We all love to eat delicious foods and kdramas will crave you for sumptuous K-food. Food is the best part of a Korean drama! There are times when I have ordered Korean ramen and have it while watching the drama, the pleasure it gives you man! can’t express esp. when the drama characters are also having ramen.
Twenty Five Twenty One Review: Best Youth & Coming of Age Kdrama
I am fond of oriental foods and dramas have made me love it even more. I am eager to try Kimchi dish as it looks so tasty.
However, I was worried that apart from the vegetarian dish, I won’t be able to have a non-vegetarian dish as I eat only halal, but am glad to know that Korea has focused on halal and Muslim-friendly restaurants lately.
3) K-Beauty
Our Oppas and Unnies are so handsome and drop-dead gorgeous that made me aware of the world-famous Korean skincare.
You can find Korean beauty products anywhere in the world. It’s one of the reasons why so many people have been attracted to this country & its culture.

The drama actors including each character have flawless skin or you may say “glass skin” which makes you start taking care of your skin.
I am a skincare enthusiast and it was good to learn about Korean skincare and the products. I have tried the Korean sheet mask and it rejuvenates the skin. Now I regularly use it.
4) K-culture & language
Yes! K-dramas make you familiar with Korean culture and language. Their traditions, values, people, and customs, you get to learn a lot.
Why you should watch Korean Dramas
Also, you may want to learn their language because as drama lovers, we all wish to watch k-dramas without subtitles, right chingus?
Nevertheless, I now know many of their words and greetings. Hopefully, I learn the language soon.
So, guys, these were my reasons for loving Korea, there are more, but these are the top 4. The dramaland always makes me ecstatic and works as a stress buster. What about you? What made you attract to Korea? Do share your experience, would love to read it.
