I work at a Diner known for its burgers and sandwiches. One day, three
middle-aged women came in together just chock-full of questions about
the menu. My favorite was: “How fresh is the ‘Fresh-Roast Turkey
Sandwich?’” I responded with: “The cooks carve fresh turkey every
day.” To which she thought it was appropriate to say: “Oh so you don’t
make the turkeys here?” Ummm… no we don’t handcraft live birds in
the back of the diner…..
