Here are a few types of social media users that I have encountered. Which category do you fit?
The Heavy User – if you’re a heavy user, you check social media networks multiple times a day. You get frustrated when there are just a few updates or new Tweet since the last time you checked (maybe it would help if you waited longer than 15 minutes between checks). You strategically plan your social media updates so others don’t realize that you are online as often as you are. You might need a 12 step program, in all honesty.
The Never User – I’m sure we have all seen these people. They are the ones who set up profiles or accounts on social media sites and then never use them. You’d be shocked to see a status update or even any personal information appear on their profile. These people have empty Pinterest boards, no Facebook status updates, or a blank Twitter feed. These are the never-users.
The Candy Crusher – some people only use social media for games. I jokingly refer to them as the Candy Crushers because Candy Crush is arguably the most popular social media based game right now. These are the people who will send endless game requests but hardly ever post status updates or engage in commenting.
The Casual User – this user is what most would consider a healthy medium. These people tend to update just a few times per week. To me, it indicates that maybe they actually pay more attention to their personal lives, rather than the one they live online.
Which category do you fit into? Do you strive to be a casual user or are you happy with where you are?
