Upon arriving from Senggigi, I was eager to drop my bags and just relax for a while. I was tired of moving from one place to another and was looking forward to just do nothing for a day. Upon entering Kuta Baru, the receptionist was courteous and attentive. He showed me to the room and told me information about the hotel and its amenities.
Bedroom
I was given the fan room during my stay, the room was big enough for one person and had a no frills design. It was basic, but comfortable. The white paint inside made the room seem bigger than it is. The bathroom was kind of small, but had everything I needed.
Guests can hang out just outside their room to smoke, eat snacks or just chill.

Facilities
The hotel had a nice island vibe to it, where everything seems chill and laid back. Kuta Baru is a great place to relax in after visiting some of the nearby beaches or surfing.
The design was very Malay, down to some of the materials used. Despite being small, the hotel didn't feel cramped, everything was laid out nicely. The pool and lounge chairs were a nice addition, creating a nice, homey feel for guests. Also, if you don't want to go too far to cool off, just hangout in the pool to douse off the heat.
There are also yoga classes in the morning and afternoon for those who want to detoxify and find inner peace.

Location
Kuta Baru's location is perfect; it's right in the middle of everything, there are nearby tour operators, local and foreign restaurants, laundry service, and the beach is just a few minutes away.

Service
The staff were friendly and responded to needs and questions promptly. The Internet connection in the hotel was bad during my stay, but it might be because of the ongoing repairs to address it. Breakfast was included in the room, the selection was ok, a mix of local and western offerings that were satisfactory.

Pricing
The pricing of the rooms were competitive, but there are other cheaper options in Kuta. However, if you are looking for more than just a room to stay in, Kuta Baru is a good choice because you get to join the yoga classes and the room comes with breakfast.
