Horizon takes place in a strange alternative future, where humanity is almost extinct and where dinosaur robots roam the plains. It sounds weird and implausible, but somehow it works. Mainly as a result of a surprisingly well-designed universe and a story that somehow connects all these strange sons. Our sister site GameSpot praised it in its 9/10 review.
Horizon Forbidden West is looking to set a new benchmark for video game visuals. It seems that the game will focus heavily on crossing the water, in addition to introducing new robots. We see a mammoth robot roaming in the wild and - strangely - a gigantic robot turtle?
It's hard to glean too many details, but the game seems to be set in a whole new field, with a whole new threat that could affect the planet's ability to sustain life. Aloy, the main character in the original, returns, of course, and is shown doing Aloy things: shooting a bow, climbing mountains, riding his robot horse.
Earlier this year, Sony announced that Zero Dawn would be headed to the PC this summer. No chronology has been given for the moment when the sequel will arrive on PS5.
