Homeowner Has Surprise for Package Thief

Here’s another sign of the fraying of the fabric of American society.

At this time of the year, with Americans frantically mailing Christmas gifts to their families and friends across the country, thefts of packages delivered to the front doors of homes are increasing.

One homeowner in Las Vegas came up with an ingenious solution.

Michael Burton reports for ABC 13 that on Dec. 10, 2015, at about 1:30 p.m., a thief sprinted to a home in Las Vegas, lunged for a package on the front porch, and quickly escaped.

The theft was captured by the security camera of homeowner Eric Burdo.

What the thief stole was Burdo’s surprise gift — a box of dog poop. Ho, Ho, Ho.

Burdo said he was fed up with all the recent reports of local package theft, so “One day I kind of just thought about cleaning up the poop and putting it in a box and that’s what I did. I just kind of wanted to give them back something. Hopefully they don’t do it again and they learn their lesson.”
Burdo said “Somebody had broken into the car when we first moved here. That’s the main reason why I got the [surveillance] cameras.” He said the front door camera only captured one of the offenders; the camera on the garage revealed an accomplice.

Burdo put the package on his porch last Sunday. It wasn’t taken until Thursday.

Burdo admits that “I kept replaying” the footage of the theft. LOL
