Homemade Chai Spice Blend & Classic Chai Tea (REPOST)

As the weather outside turns frightful, there’s nothing like a steeping cup of Chai Spice Black Tea made with your own chai spice blend. That’s why I’m re sharing this now classic recipe to keep you warm all winter long.

Homemade Chai Spice Mix
5-6 cinnamon sticks, broken
4 tablespoons whole cloves
2 tablespoons black peppercorns
4 tablespoons ground cardamon
2 tablespoons nutmeg
4 tablespoons ground ginger
1. Roast all spices in a dry cast iron skillet for 4-5 minutes. Remove from heat allow to cool.
2. Combine in a coffee grinder or processor and blend into a fine powder. Store spice in an airtight container

Chai Black Tea
1+1/2 cup hot boiling hot water
1/4 teaspoon chai spice mix
1 black tea bag
4-5 drops of pure stevia extract or 2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons non-dairy milk
Steep black tea and chai spice mix for 4 minutes. Discard tea bag, add sweetener and milk.
