Holly Robinson Peete, Cookie Johnson, LaTanya Richardson Jackson and more were on hand to support their friends, Richard and Tina Lawson’s ‘Wakanda’ themed Wearable Art Gala over the weekend in L.A.
Hallmark channel actress, Holly Robinson Peete was one of the ‘From Waco To Wakanda’ themed Host Committee members that was held at the Waco Theater Center.
Styled by Mar’Tee Briann, the actress wore a gown designed by Mac Duggal for the Gala that honored Beyonce and her mother in law Gloria Carter for their philanthropy work.
Also in attendance to celebrate Richard and Tina Lawson’s inaugural Gala were the couples friends, Magic and Cookie Johnson, and Samuel L. Jackson and wife, actress,producer, LaTanya Richardson Jackson.
The Wearable Art Gala, which was hosted by comedian, Lil Rel, and Star Jones celebrates fine art and raise money to benefit the newly opened non-profit art and performance complex WACO Theatre Center in Los Angeles.
The Center houses teen mentorship programs, Tina’s Angels and Richard’s Warriors as well as WACO’s Mobile Arts Theater.
