Holiday Inn Niagara Falls – Review

By Travellingtheworld

The Holiday Inn Niagara – By the Falls is located almost on the edge of the downtown core, if one may say that. Towards the Falls lie all the big hotels, the casinos, bars and the restaurants.

It is a relatively smaller hotel, with ‘just’ six floors. The lobby is almost non-existent but the staff is very friendly.

We were given two complimentary tickets to go up to the Skylon Tower, which, like the new Fallsview Casino, is just walking distance from the hotel. It was a spectacular view from almost 800 feet above the falls.

The Room

The room has large windows, opening up to the interior of the city. If it has one prominent feature, it is the generous amount of drawers and cabinets, all giving an antique look. Even the TV is hidden behind a cupboard.

The queen bed is very comfortable.

There is no central air-conditioning – only the room air-conditioner which, of course, is sufficient.

There is no refrigerator and no complimentary water bottle/s either.

The toilet/bathroom has two parts – the first part with just a sink and the closet, and the second part with another sink, toilet and the shower.

Interestingly, the countertop for the first sink also had the coffee machine, something I had never seen before.

Power outlets were sparse, with just two of them available for charging devices.

However, the Internet connection was very good.

Other Facilities

The hotel also has a pool and a 24-hour gym.

Final Comments

This is a decent hotel and certainly is busy during the peak summer months. It has all the facilities but its lack of sufficient power outlets is a major disadvantage for the modern traveler.
