Holiday Diary – Day 2 – Berlin

By Emma @glasgowfoodie

A hot night in the hut palace but a good sleep.  Showered and some breakfast of croissant, apple and Darjeeling tea.   Aa a light bite to keep us going, we ventured out to find a cafe for a cuppa.   A couple of streets along we found, Cafe Valentin. Bread board, chai latte, milky coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice.  Bliss.   lumch was a visit to Burgermeister, james v burger site recommends this, so we headed along as it was nearby.   Delicious!   new hotel for the night, over near the Olympiastadion meant a wee trip to Spandau. We headed first to an old pub, but it was closed, looks good.   After this, we headed to Spandau Brewhouse just outside Berlin.  Good beer, service and garden – would recommend a longer visit.       A quick run run across town on the U Bahn, and we were at Alex Platz to visit the tv tower.  Wanted to go up this for a good few years.   Some more liquid and food was needed. So we checked out The Bird.  We’ll keep you on tenterhooks about that….
