Rimmel Salon Pro HipHop - £4.49
A red polish is a shade that I always find myself struggling to wear. Something about the hue seems to me to be more mature than I can pull off, and the tone never seems to sit too well with my skin tone. However, I have always loved the look, so I set out on a mission to find a red that would suit me. And here's the one I came up with - Rimmel Salon Pro in HipHop.
The orange undertones in this make a lot more of a 'younger friendly' option, and a hot polish for the summer months. It works equally as well on fingers as on toes, and the formula makes it a dream to work with: well pigmented it glides on opaque in one coat, although I always seem to end up doing two, and the Lycra marketing spiel actually seems to hold true in this one - no chipping for several days at least. It also comes with one of those wide brushes, which makes application so much easier, as a whole nail can be covered in one broad stroke.
I will definitely be picking up some more from the range, but I'm not sure any will be able to beat the color of this for me. It's hot, hot, hot ...
