Hihi from HK!

By Winyeemichelle

Hey guys, remember me?
I can hardly believe that I've quite happily lived in Hong Kong for over a week now! I'm so sorry for the (technical) radio silence around here. I completely underestimated how hectic moving to a new country would be... I've hardly stopped since stepping onto my plane at Heathrow. (A slightly traumatising experience, I won't lie, plenty of tears leading to the Chinese lady sitting two seats away telling me to "man up".)
My last few days in the UK feel like aeons ago. I honestly can't believe it was only, like, 11 days ago. My Granny was so sad when I said my goodbyes with her; I hope she's doing fine without me. That friend I spoke about a few posts ago that I hadn't spoken to in a while? He completely surprised me with a farewell wander the evening before my flight, so that helped with the whole 'peace of mind' thing.
Settling in has been much easier than I anticipated. As I type this, I actually have no sofa, no chairs and no bed frame. I'm sat on my mattress in the living area and my furniture is all due this week. LIFE. WHY. I seriously can't wait to see how my little apartment comes together and of course I'll share it all on here when I can. I've already completed a week at work and it feels a little easier every day - the commute is crazy but the people are nice. I just need to get my head done and nail this probation period.
I also did a lot of shopping the other day, so, er, stay tuned for that ;)
