Hidden Figures Becomes Top Grossing Oscar Contender

There is more good news for the ladies of Hidden Figures, the #BlackGirlMagic movie has moved on past La La Land to become the top grossing Oscar contender.

Hidden Figures, starring Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer & Octavia Spencer, has risen to $119 million in total box office sales while La La Land has raked in $118 million, following last weekend’s box office numbers.

According to Indie Wire, we can expect Hidden Figures to topple over $150 million or more from now till the Oscars. The film has been nominated for three Oscars, including Best Picture (up against La La Land), Best Supporting Actress (Octavia Spencer) and Best Adapted Screenplay.
