On Sunday evening both Once Upon a Time and Revenge aired their "Winter Finale's".  Considering Winter doesn't actually begin until 12/21/12, I was a bit confused...shouldn't these shows have been called Fall Finale's?   Hoping the Mayan calendar isn't accurate and we are all around in January to find out what happens to everyone in Storybrooke and the Hamptons when they return, but in the mean time...some juicy stuff went down on both shows last night.


On Once Upon a Time, Emma, Snow and Aurora schlepped all over the place to get the compass, magic ash, and finally, the squid ink in Rumple's cell.  When they got there though, all they found was what looked like the rantings of a serial killer on a scroll with Emma's name written a thousand times.  I said the second I saw it..."that's the squid ink, that's the squid ink" and of course Snow heard me screaming all the way from Tenafly NJ!  She figured it out too, blew on the scroll and the magic ink came to life and broke the spell. They still had to get through evil Cora, but Emma's heart made of true love took care of that.  Then if all that wasn't enough, Regina had to listen to Henry screaming at her in Storybrook in order for Snow and Emma to come through the well...she didn't listen, but it didn't matter,  when true love is involved "good always wins" and Mother and Daughter climbed out (not Cora and Hook as Regina anticipated) to their home and their loved ones...and Regina. Hugs, more hugs then Snow had to run and kiss her man to break his sleeping curse.  Sure everything in the "Winter Finale" (that ended in the Fall) seemed to be tied up nicely, but you know that come January all hell will break loose in Storybrooke when Cora and Hook and that magic bean dock their boat in Storybrooke. 
Things didn't go well for Ashley on Revenge's "Winter (Fall) Finale".  As a diversion, Aidan and Amanda sent a video of Ash and Conrad going at it to Victoria, and while it sucked for Ash who lost her boyfriend and her job, it really didn't phase Victoria or Conrad at all. Just another day for the Graysons.   Conrad was to busy losing his CEO title at Grayson Global to his son who has done a 180 since his breakup from Emily/Amanda,  but now that he has won the vote and the CEO title, he is in super danger from whatever "The Initiative" is.  Guess we won't find that out until the Spring premiere which will take place this Winter.  Nolan lost 51% of Nolcorp to Daniel but of course that's probably only temporary because Nolan and Marco, his ex-boyfriend have a backup plan.  Also temporary, Jack's happy christening moment which had to be ruined by the very quick attempted murder of old friend, Matt Duncan, who we had never heard of before.  Matt came to town long enough for the Ryan brothers to assault him and give Jack the heads up that these guys are bad news.  Duh Jack.
Homeland still has two episodes left until it's finale, but it just keeps getting juicier and juicier.  Right off the bat in this weeks episode, Carrie had a car "accident" courtesy of Abu Nazir. That looked just like the one Michael Vaughn had in Alias.  Abu loves using the zip tie method of restraint along with some good old fashioned gagging to keep his captives quiet but of course for some bizarro reason, he let her go after hearing Brody utter the secret code words. He's the worlds most dangerous terrorist with a heart...LOL.  Carrie ran out called Saul to get help and then headed back for more.  We did get confirmation that Peter Quinn is a Black Ops guy working for some guy that Saul knows named Dar Adal. Pretty sure he's supposed to kill Brody at some point but he hasn't done that yet. Anyway, in order for Carrie to be freed, Brody had to go to the Vice Presidents office, get in there, get a code for the VPs pacemaker, send it  to Nazir,who sent it to his IT guy who remotely caused Walden to have a heart attack and die. I didn't see that one coming actually.  Also this week...Mike felt guilty about his night with Jess, but Jess sure didn't.  Dana still feels so guilty she can't seem to wipe that annoyed puss off her face or change her boots but Finn is still looking to hook up with her anyway.  He probably could help with both of Dana's issues if he wasn't a murderer.
Saturday's episode of The Wedding Band was pretty decent actually.  Still some odd things about the show though.  The first one is that it makes no sense at all that Tommy (Brian Austin Green) became the go to guy for everyone at Rutherford Events when he and the band JUST got signed with the organization 3 episodes ago.  That part of the show is a bit weird. Brian Austin Green's black nail polish bugs me and I sort of think he's wearing eyeliner but I'm not sure. I didn't really love the song choices this week, but I loved the White Trash and Adult Prom party themes.  At least I get good party ideas from this show.  Another super annoying thing for anyone reading from TBS...you guys really need to get with the program on social media.  The promo for the show says that the band's going viral and yet...THEY AREN'T!  Still no video clips anywhere...whatever guys...you are missing the boat big time. Best thing about the show is the band and you aren't using them at all.  Big miss!

So many of you guys make show recommendations to me all the time. I keep them all and  try to catch up on them when I have spare time.  That's how I got into Breaking Bad and that's why I just started watching Sons of Anarchy. My husband always told me I wouldn't like SOA, so assuming he knows me better than all of you guys do, I listened to him and then...on Saturday afternoon, I was home, nursing an injury (no worries, I'm fine) and decided to check it out...Of course...I love it. I'm hooked and 3 episodes in to Season 1. I guess there isn't a need to state the obvious, but since it's all new to me here are some of my observations: Jax is awesome.  While blond guys are normally not my thing, Jax could change that.  He has a cool jacket, a cool walk, seems to be a decent guy, has great hair and looks like Channing Tatum's Norwegian cousin.  I've never been a Ron Pearlman fan, but he's good in this show.  Of course the real story here is Katey Sagal and what a badass she is...love her.  So far in the first 3 episodes, I noticed that the Sons have a thing for slashing the cops tires, the town being called Charming is a bit of irony at it's finest, and something always seems to go wrong when the gang least expects it.  Again, I'm obviously just starting out with this one, but I'm enjoying it big time so far. 
NEWS & INFORMATION *Howard Stern announced he will resign with America's Got Talent for another season. Sorry Howard...love ya, but I'm not watching again...
*Congrat's to ABC's Good Morning America for winning their first November Sweeps in 18 years!  Based on total viewers and on RA25-54 GMA has stolen The Today Show's crown.  I wonder if Matt Lauer spent the weekend writing nasty emails blaming everyone BUT him for the loss of the number 1 spot? *For all you Led Zeppelin fans, hope your Tivo's are set for Letterman tonight (if not you can do it online or via mobile RIGHT NOW).  Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones,  who are all being honored with Letterman at this years Kennedy Center Honors on 12/26, will be doing a rare appearance on Dave's show. *Nick Lachey will host yet ANOTHER new singing game show.  This one is on NBC and called "The Winner Is...". I guess since he didn't get the Live with Kelly job he had to do something.  *November 30th was the 30th anniversary of Michael Jackson's Thriller.  Feel old now? I do! *Carrie Underwood will play Maria Von Trapp in NBC's Live Sound of Music event in 2013.  If Carrie can act, then she will be a perfect Maria!  She definitely can sing the part. *Jimmy Fallon clip of the week: I don't know how I missed this one!  But...I LOVE IT! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r2aBtx4URYg Jimmy...call me!
*According to Kantar, political spending was up 38% vs. 2010  and 86% since last presidential election in 2008. Total spending was  3.1 billion dollars. 2.9 billion on local TV stations with the remaining money spent nationally. 41.8% of the budget was spent on the presidential election, 21.9 on ballot initiatives and the rest on "other" issue etc. LA, DC, Cleveland, Vegas and Denver received the most political dollars.
Interesting Time Spent Statistics:
  • An average visitor spends 6.75 hours per month on Facebook, 1.5 on Tumblr, 1.5 on Pinterest, 21 minutes on Twitter, 17 minutes on Instagram and 3 minutes on Google+ I've never been on Google +, hardly ever on Tumblr, Instagram or Pinterest
