Here’s Why Your Next Trip Should Be to Antarctica

By Twothirstytravellers @2thirstytrav

It sounds crazy, right? Traveling to Antarctica. But thousands of lucky people do it every year, and you can be one of them.

If you’ve always wanted to see giant icebergs, cute penguins, and some of the most incredible wildlife and scenery in the world, you should be looking into Antarctica Cruises 2018.

Here are some reasons why your next trip should be to Antarctica:

Office-free

You won’t find any offices in Antarctica. And you probably won’t be keeping in touch with your boss or colleagues. If you’re ready for a much-needed break, and want to completely switch off, Antarctica is the place to go. You’ll see the most incredible views of your life, without a skyscraper to be seen.

An escape from tourists

If you’ve been to any top travel destination lately, you’ll know how annoying it can be to show up and realize that hundreds or thousands of other tourists are in the exact same place, elbowing each other out of the way.

When you visit Antarctica, the only other tourists you’ll meet are the ones on your cruise. That gives you incredible freedom, and allows you to get off the beaten track.

Wildlife

Expect to see whales, seals, thousands of different birds, and of course, the Penguins. Two types of penguins are only found in Antarctica- the Adelie Penguins and the Emperor Penguins. You’ll see up to 250,000 penguins in each breeding area, and since they haven’t yet learned to be afraid of humans, you’ll be able to get up close to these amazing creatures.

There are at least three breeds of dolphins, six species of seals, and ten species of whales which have been spotted in the ocean around Antarctica. The whales include sperm, pilot, southern bottlebosed, orca, finback, sei, blue, right, minke, and humpback whales, and you’ll be able to see them in pods and traveling alone.

Ice, Ice, Baby

Whether you want to set up your tripod near the huge ice formations, or climb them, you’ll be able to see some of the most incredible formations in the world. Grab an ice pick and your crampoons and go mountaineering- now that will be a story to tell.

Adventure

There’s a reason why you should give up that time on the beach for a trip to Antarctica. And that reason is…adventure! You can go polar kayaking amongst the different fjords and see seals, penguins, and whales in their natural habitats, experience trail-less skiing, and even go Arctic camping by sleeping in a tent on the ice.

An Experience to Remember

When you get to the end of your life, traveling to Antarctica is likely to be one of the things that stands out in your memory. This truly is the trip of a lifetime, and you’ll be able to see untouched territory in one of the most mysterious places on earth.
