The Heim Smock is produced in a very limited quantity in conjunction with the exhibition Operation Heim at Paleet, Oslo. The exhibition commemorates the WWII efforts of the resistance. The jacket was issued to dedicated brave men of the resistance like commandos and Special Operation Executive agents. It is made from Ventile which is a densely woven from 100% cotton. The fabric is not coated or laminated as the combination of the dense weave and the swelling propertied of the fibres when wet provide excellent weatherproofing. The history of Ventile stretches back to the late 1930 as Britain worked hard to lower the casualties of pilots that dropped into cold waters, lowering the death rate from exposer by 80%.
