The Department of Meteorology states that the Heat Index is likely to reach the ‘Cause Caution’ level.
The Heat Index states that, the temperature felt on human body is expected to increase up to ‘Caution’ level at some places in Northern, North-Central and North-Western provinces and in Trincomalee and Batticaloa districts.
The heat indexes of these areas may reach a ‘ Caution’ level. The extreme caution level records temperatures ranging between 39-45 Celsius degrees. According to the notice, people living in areas under ‘Caution’ level, fatigue is possible with prolonged exposure and activity and continuing activity could result in heat cramps.
