Heart like Mine by Maggie McGinnis is a 2016 St. Martin's Press Publication.
The author did a fantastic job of creating a lifelike situation that depicted all angles of a story. The dynamic between Delaney and Josh is a little tricky at first because, naturally, they see themselves as adversaries, in a way. I loved the nurses and secondary characters who added a lot of insight and humor to the story.
I love stories which depict situations that mirror real life problems because the characters tend to be more realistic and mature, and not so overly dramatic or selfish, with the angst levels set in low gear, giving the story so much more depth. We don’t get enough of these, in my opinion.
