These clots can further narrow the coronary arteries and worsen the angina. If the clot becomes large enough to completely block the coronary artery then it may cause a heart attack.
Additionally, low estrogen levels before or after menopause also play a vital role in causing coronary MVD (microvascular disease) that affects the tiny arteries of the heart.
