Healthy Food That You Can Add to Your Diet

By Upliftingfam @upliftingfam
What you eat can greatly affect your health and well-being. A healthy diet is known to prevent illness, and can also help to combat some serious diseases such as cancer and heart problems. This article takes a look at some of the foods that you may want to consider eating to improve your health.

Diet and health go hand in hand, and what you put into your body has a tremendous impact on how well you feel, as well as whether you are able to fend off disease. Unfortunately, in today's world, many people have forgotten the importance of eating right and have instead opted for fast food and snacks that lack the nutrition and substance needed to promote good health. Many seem to be under the impression that any health problems can be fixed with a magic bean or treatment, but the fad is that modem medicine can only do so much and, most of the time; treatment is geared towards relieving symptoms, not fixing the problem. If you really want to start feeling better and live a disease-free life, consider adding the following foods to your diet.

Cayenne and Turmeric

One good step in keeping your body healthy is ensuring that your blood is clean and is pumping strongly to all of your major organs. Cayenne pepper and turmeric are the perfect combinations to help you accomplish this. Cayenne stabilizes blood pressure and strengthens your blood flow, making it a panacea that can aid in the healing and prevention of almost all diseases. Turmeric has similar properties and is also a great anti-microbial and anti-viral agent. You can expect a lot of benefits from turmeric. Keeping these two spices in your diet will help you avoid viruses, correct heart problems, lose weight, and maintain good overall health.

Leafy Greens

Leafy greens like kale, spinach, and romaine lettuce are packed with vitamins and minerals that promote better health. One commonly overlooked green that most people refer to as a weed is a dandelion. Many people avoid having dandelion in their garden because it can take over, but when given its own dedicated enclosure, it is a great food crop. Despite their negative reputation, dandelion leaves are one of the most nutritious substances on Earth, and dandelion root can be used to make a tea that rejuvenates and stimulates the liver. Alfalfa sprouts are yet another type of green that grows very quickly and is packed with nutrition.

Berries

Finally, berries are not only extremely delicious, but they are also very high in Vitamin C and antioxidants. Unfortunately, you have to be careful about the berries you eat because many of the store-bought ones are covered in pesticides that you do not want to make a regular part of your diet. Luckily, berries grow quickly and easily, so it would not be hard to grow your own and have a virtually unlimited supply of fruity goodness in just a couple of months. You can also make a hobby out of wild crafting (taking from the wild) berries during the right season. Imagine having a large supply of blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, and raspberries. Also, an uncommon type of berry that grows well in southern, subtropical climates is the Acai berry, which is a renowned superfood that has more antioxidants per weight than any other fruit. Getting all of these berries together would provide all the ingredients needed for a great smoothie, but you would also feel better than ever after a few weeks.
