He’s Home + Happy Fourth.

By Samantha Curtis @hooahandhiccups

Happy Friday! And an extra happy one at that since Z is finally home! He had to leave for work two weeks ago, right after we got home from Maine, and it’s been a madhouse here without him. So I’m super excited to not only have him home with me, but to have an extra hand around here. I can’t even describe the chaos but to sum it up, let’s just say I’m looking forward to sleeping, eating, and feeling normal again. I absolutely love that he has a job he loves and although sometimes it may be difficult, as long as he’s happy, we make it work.

We don’t have any real plans this weekend; the big Independence Day celebration was last weekend and I opted out.  Z was away and I didn’t feel comfortable going knowing how many people would be there, 25 bounce houses, chaos.. and facing it all alone. Yeah, no thanks. We blew up our own bounce house and just kicked it in the backyard. The kids had a blast and probably had just as much fun as they would have had there. And it was one less panic attack for this mama.

I’m a little sad because we’re usually back in Ohio for the Fourth, but it just wasn’t in the cards this year. But that’s going to happen sometimes and we have to learn to make the most of it and create our own memories. We will probably grill out, play with Sparklers (responsibly), and have a bonfire. Sometimes, those nights are the best kind of nights anyways.

Wishing you all a happy holiday weekend! Be safe and have fun And God Bless the USA! xo
