Original Air Date: 16 August 2011

Storyline: Christina accepts the interim COO job at James River Hospital. Tom is trying to convince his friend who suffers from Lou Gehrig's disease to have a surgery that would save his life. Kelly is struggling with her certification as a scrub nurse. After excepting his proposal, Bobbi and Steve must decide where they will go next.Best Quote:

Tom: I didn't think she'd sign them-- Divorce papers.
Steve: So, what, you were trying to scare her?
Tom: Uh, you know what? I don't know. Maybe. I know that filing was probably exactly what I shouldn't have done when it comes to Christina. You know, I just-- I just thought she'd fight for me, you know, like she fights for everything else in her life.
Steve: Well, I think you could have handled it a dozen different ways, and, in the end, I'm not sure it would have made much difference.

Review: I'm not too crazy about how this season ended. But then again, I'm not too crazy about this season. I would have at least hoped that all the loose ends would be tied up, as they've done before, but, for the first time (and the least expected), we have a cliffhanger. So, was this a power move, in the sense of they ended it like this to maybe have a chance of getting the show renewed? Because with the low ratings it had this season, and the way the story went, I really doubt it will be renewed (and I actually hope it doesn't).

As for this finale, I ended up multitasking again. It started off with a very stupid and useless scene with Marshall, Tom, Bobbi and Steve doing a crossword puzzle, minutes that could have been better spent on actual plot development, and continued with tying up loosen ends, except for the main story.
The Bobbi/Steve part went exactly as predicted, with her convincing him to fly to London and see his father one last time. The whole Bobbi-Garlan dance around the CNO position made me yawn, that would have been another time better spent in another way. As for the medical case, we got Tom's ex-military buddy with Lou Gehrig's disease coming in to die after he impaled himself on a fence. After seeing how his wife fought for his life, he started to wonder why Christina just signed the divorce papers and didn't fight for their marriage (which is something I've wondered myself). After the wife told Tom that her husband never treated her differently, though while he was away she got pregnant by another man, I actually thought they were going to make Christina pregnant with Nick, but thank God they didn't.
Christina apologized to Bobbi about everything, and then went with Camille to a party (?). These scenes were so forced that I ended up playing a stupid game in the meantime. The only thing I actually liked about the episode was the relationship between Kelly and Brenda, and their interactions.
The ending was awful, with Tom stopping by Christina's house to apologize for not showing her enough love (yawn), then Nick stopping by to tell her she's the only one, while waving his gun around (isn't that guy really creepy?).
So now we're left with a cliffhanger - Nick getting shot - for a possible fourth season. Nothing is resolved, there's no actual closure for Tom and Christina, and now we have to wonder who shot Nick - was it the creepy guy hanging around the hospital, or was it Tom? I must say, if this show doesn't get renewed, this is the worst ending they could have come with.
I hated this season and the way the story went. If it gets renewed, I have a big wishlist on how I'd like things to happen: Nick dies and it wasn't Tom who did it, Christina and Tom work together again but things are going to be tough, and they NEVER get back together, because there was no chemistry between them to begin with, Camille stays in school and we see more of the medical stuff and way less personal drama. But if it gets renewed and stays on the same path, this show will go next to Desperate Housewives, in the recycle bin I threw it after season 3.
