Hautbois Hall Wedding Photos – Eleanor and Matthew

Posted on the 10 August 2019 by Duncan Kerridge @duncankerridge

I’d been looking forward to my first Hautbois Hall wedding for quite a while.  Years in fact!  For some reason I’ve not worked there before despite it being only 40 minutes from home.  A friend recommended me to Eleanor and Matthew last year and they got in touch to give me my first opportunity.

I was welcomed by a friendly face when I arrived – the wedding coordinator Cheryl used to the work for another venue where I had shot several weddings long ago.  She’s been at Hautbois Hall for a number of years now and has done a great job setting up the hall as a wedding venue.

Eleanor and Matthew were both getting ready at the hall in different cottages so I spent the first part of the day flitting between them and capturing some of the details in and around the venue.  The string quartet arrived and set up near the ceremony quickly followed by the first of the wedding guests.  Matthew welcomed them while Eleanor was helped into her dress by her sister and her children.

After quickly skirting around the side of the guests behind a sheet(!) Eleanor and her dad walked down the aisle to join Matthew on the lawns in front of Hautbois Hall.  As always with outdoor weddings in the UK there had one eye on the weather for the past 24 hours but today fortune favoured the brave and we were lucky enough to hold the ceremony in the sunshine and with the hall as a glorious backdrop.  Eleanor and Matthew were joined inside by their witnesses for the legal bits and then it was back out into the sunshine for a quick charge through the confetti.

Guests enjoyed drinks and games on the lawn while we took a few family group photos and managed to catch a quick photo with one of the trains on the Bure Valley Railway which runs right next to the Hall.  Into the barn for the wedding breakfast with some great food from Florentina Events which was followed by a quick speech from Eleanor and a touching one from an emotional father of the bride.

In the evening we moved to the courtyard while the room was turned around and I stole away Eleanor and Matthew for a quick wander around the grounds on their own.  Shortly after we got back it was time for the dancing and a great first set by their epic wedding band The Salvation.

Congrats Eleanor and Matthew x
