Harry Potter Home Inspiration – Slytherin

By Melissak

Happy Friday everyone!  This week seemed to have just flown by and now its time for weekend fun yet again.  By weekend fun I mean I’ll be taking photos of Carl while he studies being bored.

When I think about Slytherin I don’t think about Draco, any of the death eaters, Voldemort or even Prof Snape.  I think about this guy.

Yes, the captain of the quidditch team himself Marcus Flint.  This guy’s face will forever be imprinted on my face, he just seems so mean and what nightmares are made of.  If you think about Slytherin, the first thing I think about is great fashion sense, I mean none of those guys were in a competition to see who could wear the ugliest sweater.  They took fashion risk that worked.  If you are a born Slytherin you were most likely a pure blood that showed traits of ambition, cunning and leadership, but personally I would have begged that hat to put me in the house so I could wear the outfits.  Its my two favorite colours wrapped in a perfect combo, well I don’t think I would have liked all unhappy vibes these guys oozed out.

Slytherin had a lot of great elements in their common room.  Yes, it might have been in a dungeon, but they sure knew how to live.  From leather couches ( faux leather of course), chess tables to make you want to learn the game,  window reading nooks to weird skull decor scattered around the place.

Nice, no?

Now Lets take a look at my take of the Slytherin Dungeon.

^^ These really lovely chess tables look like they could have been donated by Draco’s dad.

^^ Because if you are going to give your all during a chess game, you have to sit in luxury.

^^ Because, when you are a pure blood only the best oriental rugs will do for your living situation.

^^ The faux leather couches of your dreams.

^^ Faux leather ottomans/coffee table? Why not, when you are slytherin.  You can never have to much of a good thing.

^^ I’m not a big fan of round dining room tables, but these ones sure make me feel a sense of comradery that will be shared with fellow pure bloods.

^^ Reading nook in your bedroom.  Sign me up!

^^ Offbeat home decor, with a serious hints of disturbing. Yes, these are all aspects that make slytherin so unique.  I’m serious considering trying out the little skull cacti! Its super cute.

Hope you found so inspiration.
