Harbour Heights Hotel Wedding Photographer | My Kind of People

Weddings and sharing the experience | My kind of people!

This day we were working as a Harbour Heights Hotel Wedding Photographer.  However, we meet and capture all manner of wedding celebrations.

A rich variety of characters and varying energies within which to work.  As Marion and Andrew’s Harbour Heights Hotel wedding photographer we could see their day as one over flowing with connection and joint celebration.

I had never witnessed before a bride walk down the aisle, taking it all in, making eye contact with so many of her guests and warmly greeting them with her infectious beaming smile.

The church service was held at St Peter’s Church Bournemouth.  It’s stunning ornate interior and a beautiful backdrop, although the limited interior light was something that pushed us and our cameras to the limits.  Like many things in life, what you gain in one direction, you may lose in another.  Great setting, yet limited daylight = grain & a choice of black & white pictures.  Thinking about it, that’s not so bad after all!

Following their service, the couple proceeded over to the Harbour Heights Hotel.  The wedding area having a spectacular view over Poole harbor.  A perfect place to enjoy drinks and canapes with your guests.

Years of experience working within weddings, you would think everything is second nature.  It should be, yet people are different.  that in a way is where the beauty lies within this job.

We are awaiting Marion and Andrew’s arrival at the hotel.  The Bridesmaid’s car had already arrived, family and guests were all on site.  The Harbour Heights Hotel wedding team were poised and ready to greet them.  Toastmaster standing to attention ready to announce……..But no show.  45 minutes passed before they did appear.  One bottle of bubbly down after taking in some sights of the area away from the crowd.

When they did appear, it was straight on with the show, being announced in for dinner.  We were ready, having worked out the route between tables they would probably take.

Did it happen?

Did it heck!  The first guest the couple came to, Marion stopped, cuddled, chatted before moving on to the next guest.  A slow path was carved, with an impromptu receiving line before they took their places at the top table.

What does this say to you?  It’s all too clear to us, that this couple are very much about their family and the people they call friends.  Everything was so genuine within their warm energy, being a pleasure to capture.

Documentary wedding photography is all about working with what is presented.  Attuning to it, feeling it and capturing in – not planning and leading.

Foresight isn’t always helpful..

No amount of foresight prepared us for how their day would run.  Even the hotel staff were bemused.  Professionals through and through, we took it in our stride working around how they chose to celebrate.  The pictures we took as a Harbour Heights Hotel Wedding Photographer reflecting them naturally.

Here’s a brief preview from their day.  We enjoyed capturing it all as Harbour Heights Hotel Wedding Photographers.  My thanks once again to Will for second shooting and contributing some great frames to the mix.
