It was inevitable. Sooner or later, we all knew Gwen Stefani would bring Harajuku cool to Target. Don't get too excited. It's not for you. Well, unless you can fit into kids clothes and/or have kiddies of your own.
I have nothing but love for the Stefani-Rossdale family. They are super hip but not in an obnoxious "I'm trying so hard" sort of way. They appear to have innate qualities of cool. I love anything & everything effortless. Not to mention, they aren't a TMZ target for scandals. So, when Gwen Stefani announced a line for Target, I'm sure everyone was excited to see how she'd make toddlers to tweens uber cool. Well, if the look book is any indication, Gwen is turning your kids into Harajuku Hipsters. Whoa. What the what? Well, think lots of plaid, bright pops of colour, skinny pants, tutu's, t-shirts with fun sayings. The essence of Harajuku I feel (and I might be way off base) is mismatching. It's like an art form. Put things together that are so contradictory to each other that somehow they make sense. I wonder if Zuma & Kingston actually approved these styles..... hmmm.
